How can I vote in the upcoming election?
You can vote by paper ballot or online.
How do I vote by Paper Ballot?
In-person, paper ballot voting will only be offered on the day of the Election - Monday, October 24th, 2022 from 10:00am until the close of polls at 8:00pm.
Can I vote online?
Yes! Internet Voting will be conducted throughout the entire voting period for eight consecutive days beginning Monday, October 17, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. and ending at the close of the polls at 8:00 p.m. on Election Day, Monday, October 24, 2022.
Who are we voting for this year?
Voters will elect seven individuals to sit as Members on Pickering City Council for the following Offices:
Mayor, elected at large, three Regional Councillors and 3 City Councillors elected by voters from each of the three wards.
Voters will also cast a vote for school board trustees and the Regional Chair.
Who can vote in the election?
To vote in the upcoming election, you must be: a Canadian citizen, at least 18 years of age or older, a resident in the City of Pickering or the owner or tenant of land there, or the spouse of such owner or tenant; and,
not be prohibited from voting under the Municipal Elections Act (MEA) or otherwise by law.
